Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Cartomoir, a travel-mapping service. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Cartomoir.

Your account

You need an account to build a map. Keep your login credentials secure, as you're responsible for activity that happens under your account. You must provide accurate information and be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent where you live) to use the service.

Your content

The travel data you add — flights, trips, routes, notes — is yours. You retain all rights to it. You grant us only the limited license we need to operate the service: to store your data, process it (for example, to compute distances and statistics), and display it according to the visibility settings you choose. Delete your content or account and that license ends.

Free maps are public at cartomoir.com/u/yourusername. Pro accounts can make maps private or share them by unlisted link. You choose what's visible; anything you make public or share by link can be viewed by anyone with the address.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the service for anything unlawful, or upload content that infringes someone else's rights;
• attempt to breach, probe, or disrupt the service or other users' accounts;
• scrape, harvest, or bulk-download other users' data;
• impersonate another person, or map someone else's movements without their consent;
• resell or misrepresent the service as your own.

Free plan and Pro

The free plan includes your public map, unlimited manual flights and drawn routes, region highlighting, stats, and full data export, with a lifetime cap on file imports. Cartomoir Pro is available as a CA$20/year subscription or a CA$60 one-time lifetime purchase and adds features such as private and unlisted maps, custom route colours, and unlimited imports. We may adjust plan features and pricing over time; changes to pricing won't affect an already-purchased lifetime license.

Billing

Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record, and are also subject to their terms. Yearly subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel any time and keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for. The lifetime purchase is a one-time payment for Pro access for as long as the service operates. If you believe you've been charged in error, contact us and we'll make it right.

Leaving is easy

You can export your entire account in open formats (GPX and GeoJSON) and delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Deletion is permanent.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or abuse the service. Where reasonable, we'll warn you first and give you a chance to export your data.

Disclaimers

Cartomoir is provided "as is" and "as available". Maps, distances, routes, and statistics are estimates for personal record-keeping, so don't rely on them for navigation or anything safety-critical. Map data comes from third-party sources (OpenStreetMap, CARTO, OpenFlights, GTFS feeds) and may contain inaccuracies. We work hard to keep the service available and your data safe, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cartomoir and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. If a change is material, we'll update the date at the top and notify you by email or an in-app notice before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Canada. Your privacy is covered separately by our Privacy Policy.
